Vermonters for a Clean Environment was formed to fight the billion dollar power plant
project proposed for Rutland and Bennington counties in Southwestern Vermont. VCE
has grave concerns about the apparent directive given the state agencies to expedite the
natural gas power plant and pipeline project on an extremely accelerated timetable.
VCE maintains that this project is to benefit multi-billion dollar out-of-state companies
and sees no benefit at all to Vermonters. The citizens of the region call for an
immediate end to this project to make way for a responsible, sustainable, renewable energy
plan that benefits Vermonters.
