This is a prayer of the People |
We call upon you, most Holy one. Each in our own way And within our own traditions. |
We thank you for our many blessings We thank you for the beauty Of where the earth meets the sky We thank you for the sweet water to drink each day. We thank you for the quiet that nurtures reflection. We pray for Divine Guidance. We pray for our State, the people and the land. May Divine Wisdom Rooted in the inherent goodness Of our people Seek and find Paths of economic growth That reflect vision and thinking With the intention and the experience To be for the good of all With harm to none. May progress Stem from Goodwill to our neighbor Gratitude for the earth as our home And Love for truth and justice. |
We pray for willingness To do the work that is ours to do We pray for discernment For the ability to communicate Compromise and mediate We pray for compassion For the challenges we all face In being the best we can be May what we have to offer As a land and as a people Be an asset to humanity And nourish the greater democracy. May the decisions we make now Be looked back upon By future generations With respect and appreciation For our foresight. May Divine Wisdom and Guidance Grace those in leadership positions And may the collective Wisdom of the People flourish and flower To move us forward with love. Amen |
