Large-flowered Trillium (Trillium grandiflorum) will surely win the hearts of wildflower and nature enthusiasts everywhere.   Though common in the Champlain Valley of Vermont, it is uncommon, rare or non-existent elsewhere in the region.   It too seems to prefer alkaline soils and rocks such as limestone, marble or quartzite.
